Chris Barragy is a 2008 graduate of Clear Lake High School and attended NIACC for photography and graphic design. He has been in the photography business for nearly 10 years, working for the Clear Lake Mirror Reporter as a photographer and graphic designer. Chris has shot numerous sporting events of the Clear Lake Lions and the Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Cardinals, in addition to his concert shooting experiences from the Surf Ballroom (House Photographer) and the Tree Town Music Festival (2014, 2015, and 2016).
Shooting photos of athletics has gone beyond just High Schools sports. In 2016, he had the opportunity to cover the 2016 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, IA. In the fall of 2015, he shot on the field at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, IA for the Iowa State vs TCU Big 12 football game.
From 2012 to early 2016, he was a photographer for the Clear Lake Fire Department. In 2016, Chris put the camera down when it came to fire department calls and became a member of the Clear Lake Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter.
I joined the Clear Lake Fire Department to be a part of something that was bigger than myself and to give back to the people and great community of Clear Lake.
Chris also has 2 photos in two different editions of the Photographer’s Forum magazines. These photos were each chosen from the top 100 photos out of 14,000 photos each time.
